Forest Service Washington Office
Outreach and Engagement Specialist
Fort Collins Colorado
I specialize in engaging people with nature and in collaborative public land management processes. I have over 15 years of work and volunteer experience in the fields of ecology and education. I have assisted in numerous scientific studies ranging from deer management and endangered species to social science surveys and conservation education. I have worked as a secondary science teacher, Conservation Educator, helped establish natural areas in Texas through collaborative efforts, applied service learning projects to conserve wildlife habitat, and taught numerous environmental education workshops and college courses. Currently, I am an Outreach and Engagement Specialist for the US Forest Service as part of the Ecosystem Management Coordination staff in the Washington Office. In this capacity, I engage underserved populations in national forest planning. In addition, I assist with policy, direction, and guidance regarding inventory, monitoring and assessment activities to support land management on national forests and grasslands. I am passionate about connecting people to nature and fostering an Aldo Leopold Land Ethic among young people.
