Mural Unveiling-Fire and Water The Struggle of Tonanzin Colorado by David Ocelotl FREE Admission
This mural depicts Mother Earth (Tonanzin) and her struggle with humanity’s’ unbalanced use of her natural resources, and our growing carbon footprint resulting in the effects of global warming. Fire and water, symbols of balance and strength, have profoundly affected the ecosystems of Boulder and Colorado with physical and psychological displacement and loss. The Struggle of Tonanzin Colorado documents Boulder's pressing environmental realities; but through resilience, integration, and healing it inspires a Pan American spirit that reconciles peoples and places for a sustainable future.

*Honoring anniversary of the Floods; Curated representation from city and community for this unveiling
*Ocelotl will be working on a community mural during the week fo the festival; a detail of this bigger one throughout the whole week at Innisfree on The Hill—Artist @ Work during the festival initiative Starts 9/7-9/15

Mural presented in part by the City of Boulder, Marcos Foods, and The Americas for Conservation and the Arts 501c3
