Jennifer joined the League of Conservation Voters in April 2013 to expand LCV's Latino support base in the fight against climate change. In 2017 she became the Senior VP for a new LCV department, Community and Civic Engagement. Jennifer has over twenty-five years of experience in grassroots community organizing, coalition-building, and local-state-federal policy advocacy spanning a variety of issues impacting low-income and communities of color. Prior to joining LCV, for ten years Jennifer was the founding Executive Director of Border Action Network, then Arizona's largest immigrant and border community organization. She formed a multi-state, bi-national coalition of US-Mexico border communities advocating for humane border policy, worked for an internationally recognized indigenous land rights organization in northern Nevada defending against the impacts of open pit gold mines, and oversaw community development projects with rural communities throughout the southwest. She is a frequent source for national media and has published numerous reports and academic publications. She is the Chair of the board of directors of Las Adelitas Arizona PAC and is on the board of GreenLatinos. She lives in Tucson, Arizona with her family.
